Director of the Collegiate Education for the
Deaf & Hard of Hearing Persons

(Administrator 3, 12-month, management position)

Anticipated Starting Date: August 1, 2008.

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree and two years’ experience working with the deaf and hearing impaired in a rehabilitation, teaching or interpreting setting including two year’s supervisory or management experience; fluent in American Sign Language; knowledge of The Bilingual-Bicultural Deaf Education philosophy, familiarity with English as a second language for deaf students, excellent communication skills. Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifications as stated are encouraged to put in writing precisely how their experience has prepared them for the responsibilities of this position and by providing appropriate references. Exceptions to the degree requirements may be made for compelling reasons.

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Dean of Administration, the Director of the Collegiate Education for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing Persons is responsible for supervision, leadership and direction of the Collegiate Education for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing Persons. Key effectiveness areas include staff management, program development, budget & grant development/management and marketing and enrollment management.

Minimum Salary: $66,523 approximate annual salary, excellent fringe benefit package.
