Education is not simply stuffing lots of information inside of students’ heads. What really matters is enabling people to do something with that information- to analyze it, to critique irt, to evaluate it , and to apply it to their own lives. And since all human knowledge is conveyed through language, we need to start by being skilled readers, writers, and users of language. That is my overriding concern.
