- I follow the principle that students learn to be good writers, readers, etc. from working with good models. Therefore, in my courses, I stress the analysis and interpretation well-crafted readings that can produce student-centered discussions. I also follow Oliver Wendell Holmes’ mantra: “There are no great writers, there are only great revisers.”

- My graduate work focused on the second generation of British Romantic Poets (Shelley, Keats, and Byron). I have a very eclectic taste when it comes to literature: Turgenev, Dostoyevsky, McCarthy, are all fiction writers that I am currently reading. I also follow the work of Literary Critic Harold Bloom.
