Course Specialties
  • In the MED 111 Administrative Medical Assisting course students are using the newest version of Medisoft, a specialized software program used for ambulatory settings. During the three weeks we are spending in the computer lab, the students are getting the opportunity to schedule patient appointments, input patient data and maintain electronic medical records.

  • In the MED 125 Medical Terminology class, I have all of my lectures on PowerPoint.

  • I also developed four interactive exercises for the students to assist them in their understanding of medical terminology.
Current Work
  • Finalized the new Health Care Careers Pathway certificate
  • Teaching the first college level course at Torrington High School

  • Held one Friday workshop for students from Oliver Wolcott Technical High School to come on campus to the medical lab and have an opportunity to participate in some advanced patient care skills.

Future Work
  • Working on the allied health system-wide grant
  • Changes to the Hospital Patient Care Technician certificate program, adding one new course.

  • Developing a non-credit medical coding and billing certificate which will combine both non- credit courses with 7 hours of credit courses.
