HUMAN SERVICES
CHILD STUDIES OPTION
Associate in Science Degree
The Human Services program provides a combination of general education and specialized courses in Psychology, Sociology and Social Work. It enables the student to acquire the knowledge and experience needed for immediate employment as a paraprofessional in a variety of positions in casework, welfare, mental retardation and other settings which require similar skills. It also prepares the student for transfer to a baccalaureate program in Human Services (B.S.) or a Bachelor of Social Work (B.S.W.) program. Transfer articulation with several state colleges ensures a smooth transfer from NCCC to the next signi.cant educational step on a career ladder.
