Degree Seeking Student Requirements (New or Transfer)

  • Complete an Application for Admission. Online (you must have a credit card number in order to pay the required $20 application fee online) or by printing the Application for Admission

  • Submit the Application for Admission with the non-refundable $20 application fee to the Admissions Office, Northwestern Connecticut Community College, Park Place East, Winsted, CT  06098 or fax to (860) 738-6437.

  • If you are still in high school: send a copy of your current high school transcript to the Admissions Office. Note: The student will be required to have an official high school transcript sent to Northwestern immediately after graduation from high school.

  • If you are a high school graduate or completed a GED: send an official copy of your high school transcript or GED certificate to the Admissions Office.

  • If you were born after December 31, 1956, you will need to produce written proof of adequate protection against measles, mumps, and rubella. In addition, those born after January 1, 1980 must provide written proof of adequate protection against Varicella (Chicken Pox). Click here to access and download the Immunization Form

  • Arrange to take placement tests by calling the Admissions Office at 860-738-6330 (This requirement may be waived if student submits proof of SAT scores taken within the last two years which are 550 or higher in Math and 450 or higher in the Verbal or Essay section.) Students who are transferring from other colleges may be exempt from placement testing after evaluation of other college(s) official transcripts.  We encourage all testing students to take practice tests at http://www.nwcc.commnet.edu/skillscenter/index.htm.
