Upon the completion of placement testing, students may be placed in remedial or developmental classes based on their individual needs. Remedial and developmental English and math classes are taught by instructional specialists who use direct sign language communication with deaf and hard of hearing students. These courses are designed with the instructional needs of these students in mind, based on English as a Second Language (ESL) methodologies for the deaf. Students may need several semesters to complete these classes depending on their skill levels.
